LEARN TO KNIT ss26
Date: 25 February 2026
Price: from £60.00
Tutor: Nancy Moreland
Dates: Wednesday 25 February - 1 April
Time: 7pm - 9pm
Cost: £60
This 6-week course is for those who have never knitted before or who wish to brush up on forgotten skills. With an informal and relaxed environment to benefit the learning of new skills, you will learn the basics to start you on your knitting journey. From how to cast on stitches, knit and purl to create garter and stocking stitch, increase/decrease stitches, how to read and understand a knitting pattern, through to how to count rows/stitches and correct those mistakes we all make, as well as the dreaded, but essential, tension gauge and understanding the yarn ball label.
Along the way, you will put all these skills into creating some small projects from dish/wash cloths (great for learning new stitch patterns and useful to use afterwards), simple fingerless mitts and a cosy cowl through to a simple diagonal baby blanket. There will also be some bonus patterns for other small handy projects during the course that you can do at your own pace.
Comprehensive handouts of tutorials and patterns are provided throughout the course.
