Garden of Reflection Service 2024

Date: 23 May 2024

Price: from £0.00

The Garden of Reflection at Lagan Valley Island, Lisburn, was officially opened on Thursday 23rd May 2019. Featuring a stone sculpture and four benches, engraved with the names of children who have been lost through miscarriage, by being born asleep or through neonatal loss, as well as any young person who has sadly passed away under the age of 18. The garden provides a quiet place for relatives to go and remember those that are so dear to them.

Every year, The Mayor of Lisburn & Castlereagh City Council leads a ceremony for those who wish to remember loved ones who have passed away. This year’s dedication service will take place on Thursday 23rd May 2024 at 12noon at the Garden of Reflection at Lagan Valley Island.

The Mayor, Cllr Andrew Gowan invites families who have had the names of children or young people engraved on a plaque in the Garden of Reflection. The 2024 plaque will be unveiled at this service.

The service will be followed by light refreshments in the Island Hall where representatives from bereavement charities will be on hand to provide support to families.

Please note: places are limited to two per family to ensure that we can accommodate as many families as possible.

If you are unable to attend, and for others who would like to view the service, it will also be available to watch online via our social media platforms.
